Cello Educator
A graduate of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, Eddie began his cello studies under Herminia Ilano, widely regarded as Singapore’s “First Lady of the Cello.” He earned his Diploma in Cello Performance (Dip ABRSM) with distinction, a feat that earned him a place on the High Scorers’ Concert in recognition of his outstanding examination results.
Under the guidance of renowned pedagogue Leslie Tan, Eddie completed his Bachelor of Music (Honours) in 2014 before joining the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, where he continues to perform as an ensemble musician.
Over the course of his career, he has had the opportunity to work with an array of distinguished artists, including tenor José Carreras, and conductors Eiji Oue and Robert Spano.
Beyond his orchestral work, Eddie maintains an active interest in jazz. He has performed with jazz bassist and mentor Tony Makarome, exploring the intersection between his classical foundation and his passion for improvisation.
